Thelma Coyne christens the historical marker at Oglethorpe Park
The neighborhood grants program has continues to be a success with neighborhoods completing their projects from FY 2005-06.
Most recently the St. Augustine North Davis Shores (SANDS) neighborhood dedicated A Florida Heritage Landmark historical marker at Oglethorpe Park on Arrendondo Ave.
The marker states the early history of the Davis Shores Subdivision on the standard signage for the Florida Heritage Landmark designation.
Christening the marker was resident and neighbor Thelma Coyne, the resident who has lived the longest period of time on Davis Shores.
In attendance at the unveiling were Mayor Joe Boles, Vice Mayor/Commissioner Don Crichlow, Commissioner Errol Jones and Commissioner George Gardner. Presenting a historical overview of the Davis Shores area was resident Nancy Sikes-Kline, a historic preservation land planner. President of SANDS and moderator was Jeanette Berk.
