Early in 2004, the City’s Department of Public Affairs launched InSight, a quarterly newsletter with one simple goal: to provide timely and accurate information to the residents and taxpayers of the city.
Last month, with the publication of the 11th issue of InSight, the two-page bulletin has become a staple that residents watch for and often call staff with appreciative comments. Certainly this modest publication has filled a need for those in the community who may not have access to the Internet or who may have missed a notice in the local newspaper or on local radio stations and still are in need of general yet helpful information about their city government and the many services it provides.
Issues of InSight have contained information as diverse as how to obtain a speed hump or where to comment on the Castillo de San Marcos management plan, or when city projects are expected to be completed. Each issue also contains some of the city’s most frequently called numbers making it easy for residents to find those numbers at a moment’s notice.
InSight is included with utility bills mailed during February, May, August, and November. InSight can also be picked up at the Financial Services Center at 50 Bridge St. or the Neighborhood Office on the first floor of City Hall.
