Events in the City of St. Augustine

How can my organization have an event at Francis Field and how much will it cost?

Contact the Department of Public Affairs, 904.825.1004, or email wbray@citystaug.com for a packet of guidelines and application for use of Francis Field. Once you have completed the application and returned it to the Department of Public Affairs a meeting will be set with the Events Review Committee to go over the details of your proposed event. There is a $25.00 non-refundable permit filing fee that must accompany all applications and charges for use of the field depend on the type and length of event.

How can I have a wedding in the Lightner Courtyard?

A use permit is required and can be obtained from the Department of Public Affairs at 904.825.1004 or email wbray@citystaug.com. The permit is for one hour and the cost is $175 if the ceremony is scheduled prior to 6 p.m. and $190 if the ceremony is held between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. There are some general guidelines for the use of public property such as no rice, birdseed or flower petals.  All prohibitions are listed on the application form.

As a professional photographer, I would like to use the Lightner Courtyard and the bayfront as background for some client photographs. Is the allowed?

You will need a photography permit to shoot anywhere on public property. The permit is $35 and will require a listing of the dates, times and locations for your shoots as well as the size of your group. Contact Public Affairs at 904.825.1004 or email wbray@citystaug.com for a permit.

I would like to have a small concert in the Plaza de la Constitucion. Who do I call?

The Gazebo in the Plaza de la Constitucion is available for small concerts. There are two types of permits for use of The Gazebo. The first is a scheduling permit which costs $25 and means that the city will not schedule any other events during your time frame but that no city services are offered. The second is an events permit which has a $25 permit filing fee and a $150 charge for use of the venue. This events permit is good for six hours and the city services provided are use of electricity in the Gazebo, some reserved parking for loading-unloading and additional trash carts. Contact Public Affairs at 904.825.1004 or email wbray@citystaug.com for a permit.

How can I receive the city's weekly email newsletter?
