2004-2006 St. Augustine City Commission takes office

The organizational meeting of the St. Augustine City Commission was held on Monday, December 6 at 7:30pm as required by the City’s charter.

The meeting included the administering of the oath of office to newly elected Commissioner Joseph Boles, reelected Commissioners Errol Jones and Susan Burk, and reelected Mayor George Gardner. Commissioner William Lennon was recognized for his decade of service as a commissioner.

Administering the oaths were three members of the local judiciary: County Judge Patti Christensen who administered the oath for Commissioner Burk; Circuit Court Judge Robert Mathis who administered the oath for Mayor Gardner and Circuit Court Judge Michael Traynor who administered the oath for both Commissioner Jones and Commissioner Boles.

In addition to taking the oath of office, the newly seated Commission reelected Commissioner Burk as Vice Mayor and addressed several procedural issues regarding how meetings will be conducted.
