During the month of January, city residents will receive some “trashy” information along with their utility bills.
Titled the “What & When of Trash - A Helpful Guide to your Solid Waste Services” the flyer was prepared to remind longtime residents and inform new residents of the full extent of city provided solid waste services. Kitchen waste & general household trash.
Monday & Thursday - North of King St.
Tuesday & Friday - South of King St. & Anastasia Island
Trash carts provided by the City are for household trash only and not for yard trash or construction debris. Trash carts may be placed at the curb after 6:00pm the day before pick-up and should be brought in by 6:00pm the day of pick-up.
Limbs and brush no longer than 4 ft. stacked parallel to the curb, grass clippings and leaves in plastic bags (preferably bio-degradable) or placed in cans no larger than 32 gal. and not exceeding 50 lbs.
Large yard debris:
Stumps, logs and other larger items exceeding size and weight limits must be disposed of by the homeowner.
Paints, motor oil, chemicals, batteries, flammables, tires and electronics including computers and cell-phones.
The City does not provide a pick-up service for hazardous materials, but these items may be deposited at the Tillman Ridge Landfill (weekdays 7:00am-6:00pm; weekends 7:00am-4:00pm; closed on major holidays). For more information call 824.9720.
Plastic, glass, aluminum and steel cans, magazines, catalogs, corrugated cardboard and newspapers.
Monday - North of King St and west of Cordova St./San Marco Ave.
Tuesday - South of King St. and west of the Matanzas River
Thursday - North of King St and east of Cordova St./San Marco Ave.
Friday - Anastasia Island
Recyclables are to be placed in bins provided by the City and placed at the curb after 6:00pm the day before pick-up and should be brought in by 6:00pm the day of pick-up.
Large Household Items
Used appliances, furniture and other large items (no hazardous materials).
Same schedule as residential recycling.
Flooring and roofing materials, excess lumber, sheet rock, plaster and similar items.
Material no longer than 4 ft. placed in 32 gal. containers (limit two per collection day) and not exceeding 50 lbs. For large amounts, a residential construction dumpster may be
ordered for a charge of $50 each time emptied. To order a dumpster, call 825.1049.
Items which may cause injury to employees (i.e. boards with nails, bags with glass shards) will not be picked up.
