Martha Graham, P. E., Director of Public Works for the City of St. Augustine, recently had an article published in the professional public works magazine, APWA Reporter (American Public Works Association.)
The subject of the article written with the assistance of city engineer Marcus Pinson, was Maria Sanchez Lake.
The lake has undergone some positive changes over the past few years in order to stabilize the flow of water to reduce flooding by installation of a new weir system and instrumentation which would transmit a variety of information directly to the engineers located at city hall.
More recently, work is being completed on the stabilization of the shoreline and removal of silt in portions of the lake.
The APWA Reporter is the journal of the American Public Works Association, a 29,300 member international educational and professional association of public agencies, private sector companies, and individuals dedicated to providing high quality public works goods and services.
