Public hearings will complete annual

budget approval process

Two budget hearings set for September 19

4:30pm: budget for the city's two CRAs

5:05pm: budget for the City of St Augustine

The St. Augustine City Commission held the first of two required public hearings regarding the 2013-2014 budget on Thursday, September 5 and now looks toward the second and final hearing on Thursday, September 19 at 5:05pm.

But prior to that hearing will be one on the budget's of the city's two Community Redevelopment Areas (CRA): the Historic Area Transportation and Parking Redevelopment Area and the Lincolnville Community Redevelopment Area. The hearing on the two CRAs will start at 4:30pm.

Both hearings will be held in The Alcazar Room, City Hall, 75 King St. The public is encouraged to attend. The 2013-2014 budget year begins on October 1.


In preparation for the commission’s budget workshop held on August 22, staff prepared a workbook with a summary of each of the funds on which the city relies for operations. In addition, staff developed a presentation reviewing some of the projects completed in the past year and outlining some planned for the coming year.
