The Planning and Zoning Board

St. Augustine's Planning and Zoning Board (PZB) meets the first Tuesday of each month at 2 p.m. in The Alcazar Room at City Hall, 75 King St.

Each of the seven members of the board are appointed by the City Commission for a three year term and no member may serve more than two consecutive full terms.

The PZB may grant zoning exceptions and variances as provided in the zoning code ordinances, hear appeals of any decision of the Planning and Building Department and recommend to the City Commission the rezoning of land or changes to the Comprehensive Plan.



Arrangements for presentations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting. A Presentation Support Services Request form, completed, must accompany the presentation when submitted to the appropriate staff. Presentations not submitted within the designated deadline may not be incorporated into a meeting’s agenda. Presentation material becomes part of the official and public record of the meeting and will not be returned.

Opportunity to serve on the Planning and Zoning Board

The City Commission of the City of St. Augustine is currently accepting applications to fill three (3) term expirations on the Planning & Zoning Board. Term-length is three years, expiring September, 2016. Board meets monthly. Interested individuals who reside within the city limits of the City of St. Augustine are invited to submit applications for this volunteer board. Applications must be received in the Clerk’s Office not later than Friday, September 13, 2013, 5:00pm. For information concerning qualifications, please contact the City Clerk’s office at 825-1007.
